Alessandro Maria Vannucchi

Alessandro Maria Vannucchi is Full Professor of Hematology, Director of the Specialty School in Hematology, and Director of the Excellence Center DenoTHE, University of Florence. Vice-President of the Ethics Committee, Area Vasta Centro, Regione Toscana. He is the chairperson of CRIMM, Center Research and Innovation of Myeloproliferative Neoplasms of Azienda Ospedaliero-Universitaria Careggi. Past Vice-President of the Italian Society of Experimental Hematology, currently in the Board of Directors of the Italian Society of Hematology. He is the Chair of the Working Party of Myeloproliferative Disorders of GIMEMA, Italy. Member of the Board of the International Working Group for Myelofibrosis Research and Treatment (IWG-MRT); the European LeukemiaNet Work Package 9. He is the Principal Investigator of several Research Projects supported by official and non-profit organizations, including projects from NHI, Ministry of Health and Ministry of University and Education, Italy, and Accelerator project from UK and Spanish Cancer association. He is the coordinator of Minerva project, http://www.progettomynerva.it, a special project on MPN including 5 Italian excellence research centers. He serves as PI in several phase I-III clinical studies. Dr. Vannucchi has 490 peer-reviewed publications and has provided lectures at several national and international meetings, including SIE, SIES, EHA, ASH and several others. From 2016, yearly Highly Cited Researcher, Clarivate Analytics. His main interests relate to the myeloproliferative neoplasms and molecular genetics of chronic and acute myeloid neoplasms, covering experimental, translational and clinical aspects.
