Vinno Savelli 

Vinno Savelli was born in 1955 and graduated in Medicine in 1981 at the University of Siena. He obtained a specialty in General and Emergency Surgery in 1987 and in Anesthesia in 1991 at the same university. He is currently Assistant Professor of General Surgery at the University of Siena and works at the General Surgery and Surgical Oncology unit, University Hospital of Siena. He is also a member of the Multidisciplinary Oncological Group and of the Multidisciplinary Oncological Surgery Research Center at the University of Siena. His main scientific research has been focused on breast cancer and cutaneous melanoma. In particular, he evaluated the importance of lymphadenectomy in relation to its prognostic and therapeutic factors. Among his clinical research he also developed studies regarding the best therapeutic approach, in conjunction with surgery, for metastatic colon cancer. He is the author of more than 90 scientific publications in international peer-reviewed journals.
