Flavio D’Ascenzi

Flavio D’Ascenzi is an Associate Professor in Sports Cardiology at the University of Siena. He was born in 1983. He graduated in Medicine in 2008 at the University of Siena where he obtained the post-degree specialization in Cardiology in 2014. He obtained the PhD in Medicine at the University of Umea, in Sweden. He is clinical assistant professor at the University of Pittsburgh, USA. His clinical and research activities are mainly dedicated to Sports Cardiology, with a focus on sudden cardiac death, cardiomyopathies, channelopathies, and exercise prescription. He is Secretary of the European Association of Preventive Cardiology and Vice President of the Italian Society of Sports Cardiology. He has authored and co-authored more than 250 papers on cardiology and sports cardiology and co-authored more than 10 expert consensus statements and recommendations on the management of athletes with cardiovascular disorders.
