Nicola Pimpinelli
Nicola Pimpinelli is Associate Professor of Skin and Venereal Diseases at the University of Florence. He was born in 1957 and graduated in Medicine and Surgery in 1983. He obtained a Ph.D. in Experimental Dermatology and a specialty in Dermatology and Venereology. His scientific activities are focused mainly in the context of skin oncology and immuno-dermatology. Research activities of Prof. Pimpinelli are substantiated by more than 100 publications in international peer-reviewed journals, more than 250 communications and reports in national and international conferences and 21 chapters of monographs. He is member of the Italian Society of Dermatology (SIDeMaST), the International Society of Dermatopathology (ISD), the Society for Cutaneous Ultrastructure Research (SCUR), the European Society for Dermatological Research (ESDR), the European Academy of Dermatology and Venereology (EADV), the International Society for Cutaneous Lymphoma (ISCL) and of the Italian Society of Hematology (SIE). He is also active member of the Italian Poli-disciplinary Group for Melanoma (GIPMe) since 1989, the Cutaneous Lymphoma Task Force of the European Organization for Research and Treatment of Cancer (EORTC) since 1986 and of the Italian Group Cutaneous Lymphomas (GILC; member of the Scientific Committee since by the constitution of the group in November 1998).
