Linda Tognetti
Prof. Tognetti Linda is associate professor in University Hospital of Siena, Dermatology Unit since April 2025. She currently runs the ambulatories of pediatric dermatology, oncological dermatology and skin tumor diagnostics, high-resolution non-invasive diagnostics, ultrasound and LC-OCT, and the diagnosis and treatment of difficult wounds. He conducts research in these fields, as well as teledermatology, bioengineering, and AI applied to medicine. She is author of about 230 publications, cited around 2543 times, current H-index 27. He has played a pioneering role in the application of the new LC-OCT method, of which he has had the prototype available since 2020: since then, he has explored the potential of this new technology by applying it in various skin pathological fields, with particular reference to rare, pediatric and oncological diseases. From October 2019 to September 2021, she was research fellow in Siena University hospital with a project: "Clinical-pathological correlation study and therapeutic monitoring with new non-invasive diagnostic methods in general dermatology, pediatric dermatology, photodermatology, oncological dermosurgery and vulnology: lc-oct (line- filed optical coherence tomography, RCM (confocal laser microscopy), HRSU (high resolution skin ultrasound) and machine learning in dermatology ". From 1 October 2016 to 30 September, 2019, she was a PhD student in Genetics, Oncology and Clinical Medicine - regional, "Pegaso" project - Cycle XXXII - Department of Medical Biotechnology - University of Siena. On March 19, 2020, she sustained a thesis Defense "Development of new acellular dermal matrices for advanced wound healing", vote: “Outstanding cum laude”. From July 2012 to July 2017 she attended the Residency School of Dermatology and Venereology, Department of Clinical Medicine and Immunological Sciences, University of Siena, and graduated with translational medicine thesis in “Clinical and laboratory characterization of patients suffering from localized scleroderma and response to treatment with UVA phototherapy -1", vote 70/70 cum laude. She graduated in 2010 in Medicine and Surgery at Florence University, vote 110/110. He obtained his high school diploma in classical studies in 2010 at the Dante Classical High School, with a grade of 100/100.
She achieved the national scientific qualification for full professor from MIUR in July 2025 (SSD MED/35, Competition Sector 06/D4), and that of associate professor in February 2022. She achieved the II level University Master in pediatric dermatology in Children’s Hospital Meyer of Florence, Italy (110/110 cum laude). In 2017 (July-September) attended a clinical-research phellowhip at the Dermatology Service, Center Hospitalier Universitaire CHU of St. Etienne (France) with a focus on non-invasive innovative diagnostic devices in dermatology. During residency, she obtained several phelloship for fostering course abroad: Summer school for dermatology residents, ESDR-European Society of Dermatological Research- European Academy of Dermatology and Venereology on Research and imaging techniques: skin structure, function and homeostasis ", Wien (Osterreich), June 2016; Summer school for dermatology residents, European Academy of Dermatology and Venereology, on “Clinical research and epidemiology”. On October 18, 2010, she obtained the Degree in Medicine and Surgery -LM-41, issued by the University of Florence, with a score of 110/110, with an experimental thesis: "The prevention of contact dermatitis with tissues: experience with dyes and natural fibres ". In January-April 2012 she performed a training course at the Skin Conservation Center and obtained the qualification to operate in laboratory in the skin process. She speaks fluently English and French: she obtained the B2 level certificate in 2009 and in 2015 from ELAC-Eastbourne Language and Activity Center (UK). She received the following prizes: Oscar of the SiDeMaST - Italian Society of Dermatology and Venereology for the category “Onchologic and Non-invasive diagnosis”(June 2025); “Lecturer of the year 2022” of the EADV (European Academy of Dermatology and Venereology (September 9, 2022); Best Scientific Production in non-invasive imaging of 2021 (AIDNID congress, May 2022); "Best young dermatologist under 35" announced by SIDeMaST (June 2019); French Society of Dermatology Grant by EADV (December, 2018); "John Stratigos Memorial Scholarship" by the EADV (September 2017).
