Matteo Lulli
Matteo Lulli graduated in Biological Sciences from the University of Florence in 2004. He obtained a Ph.D. in Experimental and Clinical Oncology from the same University in 2010 and a Specialization in Clinical Biochemistry from the University of Rome “Tor Vergata” in 2016. He carried out more than 10 years of postdoctoral research, including a postdoctoral fellowship funded by the Fondazione Umberto Veronesi. In 2026, he was appointed Associate Professor of General Pathology at the Department of Experimental and Clinical Biomedical Sciences “Mario Serio” of the University of Florence. His research activities focus on cellular and molecular biology, with particular interest in the study of alterations in gene expression mechanisms in oncology. He has also been involved in space life sciences and human space physiology research, with particular emphasis on characterizing the responses of retinal cells to the space environment and identifying countermeasures to prevent its harmful effects on the retina. He is Principal Investigator or Co-Investigator of funded projects supported by national and international agencies and has published more than 80 peer-reviewed articles. He is responsible for teaching General Pathology at the School of Human Health Sciences of the University of Florence.
